Maureen S. Browell 84, of Everett died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at her residence at Homewood at Springhouse Estates.  She was born on January 31, 1933 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Robert and Lois (Horton) Shaw.  On January 19, 1951 in Cumberland, MD she married Curtis A. Browell Jr., who preceded her in death December 6, 2005.  She is survived by the following family: a son, Craig Browell and wife Donna of Northford, CT, two daughters: Colleen Ritchey and husband Randy, of Bedford, and Christene Wachter, and husband Joseph, of Chambersburg; five grandchildren: Aaron Ritchey and wife Deanna, Adam Ritchey and wife Katie, Dawn Jara and husband Jose, Shawn Browell and wife Nicole, and Loreen Lewis and husband Dan; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sandra Miller, and husband Joseph, of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by a sister: Gail Hanks.

Maureen was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church.  She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Saxton Chapter. She later transferred her membership to the Order of the Eastern Star, Bedford Springs Chapter, and received her 50 year membership pin in 2016.  Maureen enjoyed bowling, golfing, and taking walks.  She was a very friendly and outgoing person, who enjoyed socializing with friends and family.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 12:00 p.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Jim Miller officiating.  Friends will be received on Friday from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions in Maureen’s name to: Bedford United Methodist Church, 132 E.
