Lois Grace Cypher, 96, formerly of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Manor House in Seaford, DE.  She was born on April 14, 1921 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph A. Beegle and Grace Rebecca (Hunt) Beegle. On August 19, 1939, in Colerain Twp, she married Guy Nesbitt Cypher and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1984. She is survived by two daughters:  Joanne Brosius and husband Galen, of Seaford, DE, and Marjorie Hart and husband Gordon, of Shrewsbury, MA; four grandchildren: Kimberly (Brosius) Brebner, David Brosius, Sharon Hart, and Christopher Hart; seven great-grandchildren and a sister Mary Ellen Land, of Bedford. She was preceded in death by four siblings: Ada Konhaus, Allan Beegle, Karl Beegle, and Ruth Williams.

Lois grew up on the family farm and graduated from Bedford High School in 1939.  After she and Guy married, they moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1942, where she worked at McCormick & Company, retiring from there in the 1970s as an Executive Secretary.  In retirement, she and Guy moved to Seaford, Delaware, home of daughter Joanne and son-in-law Galen, in 1980.  There she volunteered at the Nanticoke Hospital for many years. Lois was a skilled and accomplished dress maker and quilt maker, designing and sewing numerous quilts as gifts for her daughters and her grandchildren.  Some of those she made with her daughter Marjorie.  She was also a skilled designer and sewer of doll clothing for the ceramic dolls cast by daughter Joanne.  Lois took great joy and pride in her artistic creations and loved to share them with those she loved.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December, 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mark’s Church, in Friends Cove with Pastor Paul Claycomb officiating, burial at the church cemetery.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Timothy A.
