Kenneth S. Brouse II 60, of Bedford, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on February 24, 1956 in Altoona, a son of the late Kenneth S. and Barbara (Lockwood) Brouse.  On March 5, 1983 in Williamsport, he married Linda (Prew) Brouse who survives along with the following family: four sons, Nicolas Brouse and companion Heather Christiana, Jonathan Brouse and wife Tiffany, Zachary Brouse and wife Erin, and Ethan Brouse, all of Bedford; two granddaughters, Payton and Sophia Brouse; two sisters, Kathy Ford and husband Mike, of Hollidaysburg, and Beth Winnek, of Geneva, NY; a brother Steve Brouse, of West Palm Beach, FL; five nieces: Meghan, Marissa, Sarah, Emily, and Hannah; two nephews: Ian and Jack, numerous great-nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law: Stan and Joan Prew, of Ruskin, FL; and two sister-in-laws: Dawn Prew-Cohick, of Williamsport, and Cassie Frankenberry, of Bedford.

Ken was a 1974 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School and received an Associate’s Degree in Forestry from Williamsport Community College in 1980.  He was employed at Blue Triangle Hardwoods for 30 years, and then Rossi Group, in Emporium, as a Kiln Manager.  Ken was known as a history buff, and in the last few years explored and studied his family history in Sinnamahoning. He was a member of St. John’s UCC, and was Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.  He loved his basset hounds Cooter and CJ, and enjoyed canoeing, camping, woodworking, and motorcycles.  Most of all he loved being a dad and grandfather, spending as much time with his boys as he could.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at the St. John’s United Church of Christ, with Pastor Brady Plummer officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make donation in Ken’s name to: Cameron County Historical Society, 125 W.
