Jane W. Gorman, 89, of Bedford, died on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 10, 1928, in Rays Cove, East Providence Twp. She was a daughter of the late Earl and Leah (Baughman) Whetstone. On August 19, 1950, in Indiana, PA, she married William V. Gorman who preceded her in death on May 5, 2014. She is survived by the following family: Gregory L. Gorman, of Hamburg, N.J, daughter, Martha Gorman Helsel  of Everett, daughter, Mary E. Gorman, and spouse, Marti Kashuba, of San Francisco, CA, daughter, Shelia C. wife of Michael Mendicino Jr., of Leechburg, son, Joseph M. Gorman, married to the former Patti Williams, of Bloomfield, NJ, and son, James B. Gorman, of Altoona; eight grandchildren: Breena Gorman, Kelly Gorman, Jamie Gorman and husband Todd, Mary Jane Salmon and husband Tom, Connie Clark, Tina Roberto and husband Patrick, Anthony Mendicino, and, Joseph Mendicino and wife Erin; six great-grandchildren: Dylan Masters, Addison and Thaddeus Clark, Ruairi Salmon, Rowan Roberto and Luca Mendicino; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers:  Daniel and William Whetstone and four sisters:  Dorothy Snyder, Catherine Felton, Ruth Withers, and Marion Swartzwelder.

She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford, and retired in 1990 after 28 years as a business teacher at Bedford High School. She belonged to the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and P.S.E.A. Retired.  She was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed exercising at Summit Quest with the Silver Sneakers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with Father Richard Tomkosky Celebrant.  Burial at Everett Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Friday, from 4 - 8 p.m., at the Timothy A.
