James D. Wilson, 71, of Bedford, died on September 27, 2017 at his residence. He was born on June 7, 1946, in Bedford, a son of the late William P. and Louella F. (Miller) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Ann Wilson.  He is survived by two sons, James W.  Wilson and wife Jeri, of Bedford, David Wilson of Bedford; seven grandchildren:  Cole, Christopher, Cody, Alexis, Logan, Aiden, and Rayna Jo.   He is also preceded in death by four brothers:  William, Johnny, Terry, and Richard Wilson. 

James was a Vietnam Veteran that served in the Navy.  He retired after 35 plus years working as a Supervisor for the Bedford Borough Water Authority.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge # 1707 and the Bedford County Vietnam Veterans.  He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball and golfing. 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Thalia Fleetwood officiating.  Burial at Fellowship Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions in Jim’s name can be made to the Fort Bedford Honor Guard, 3721 Business 220, Bedford, PA 15522.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
