James D. Rodfong 59, of Bedford, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at home surrounded by his family, after a battle with cancer.  He was born on December 17, 1957 in East Liverpool, OH a son of the late Walter F. Rodfong, and Helen L. (White) Rodfong, who survives of Schellsburg.  On June 14, 1985 in Cumberland, MD he married Robin (Roose) Rodfong, who survives along with two daughters: Jessica Myers, and husband Scott of Dover, and Jennifer Madeley, and husband Mark of Harrisburg; two grandchildren: Alistair and Sebastian Madeley; a sister, Cindy Perrin, of Schellsburg; and a brother, Walter John Rodfong, of Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister Patti Tew, widower Steve surviving of Schellsburg, and a brother Danny Rodfong. 

James was a 1975 graduate of Bedford High School.  After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Truck Driving Instructor, and earned the Excellence in Marksmanship Pin. James worked as a ceiling mechanic for Acoustical Solutions in Bedford until disabled by his illness, and was a member of the Bedford Moose Lodge #480.  He enjoyed softball, bowling, golf, poker, and spending time with his family.
