Helen L. (White) Rodfong

Helen L. Rodfong 82, of Bedford, died Monday, February 26, 2018 at Home.  She was born on January 31, 1936 in Johnstown a daughter of the late Howard E. and Flornell (James) White. She married Walter F. Rodfong who preceded her in death on December 22, 1984.  She is survived by a daughter Cindy Perrin of Bedford, and a son W. John Rodfong of Johnstown; nine grandchildren: Jason Tew, Eric Tew, Jessica Myers, Jenny Madley, Mandi Harr, Devin Sherman,  Johnell Rodfong, Cory Rodfong, and Andrew Rodfong; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister Marjorie Edkins.  She was preceded in death by two sons: Daniel Rodfong, and James Rodfong, wife Robin surviving of Harrisburg; a daughter, Patti Tew husband Steve surviving of Schellsburg; four brothers; and two sisters.

Helen worked as a RN in the obstetrics department at Bedford Memorial Hospital.  Helen requested as a statement for all who befriended her after her 70’s that she was in fact a very caring, loyal, and loving person, who just finally discovered her inner witch around age 75.  So she let that witch out for her last years on earth.  She only wishes to inform her friends that she used to be nice and makes no apologies for the freedom she experienced following those nice years.  She loved quilting, and cherished her weekly quilting and card nights.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor John Bennett officiating.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
