Helen Mae (Price) Crissey, 78, of Bedford, passed away peacefully Friday night, Sept. 9, 2016.

Born July 29, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Buck” Price and Goldie (Robinette) Price Foor. On Feb. 11, 1957, she married George A. “Chub” Crissey. He preceded her in death Nov. 4, 1989. Surviving are a son, Roger (wife Tina) Crissey, of Bedford; a daughter, Sherry Wentz, of Bedford; a granddaughter, Courtney (husband Sam) Bierly, of Pleasant Gap; and a great-granddaughter, Willow Bierly. Also surviving are sisters, Shirley “Peg” Sciranko Buck, of Bedford, and Mabel Crum, of Michigan.

Preceding her in death were brothers, Guy Robert “Bob” Price and Charles Price; and sister, Mary Belle Shaffer.

Helen was a 1956 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. She was employed in housekeeping most of her life, having worked in private homes and at Jean Bonnet Tavern.

She was a member of the Manns Choice United Methodist for many years. She was active in the church’s choir and Ladies Aid group. Playing bingo was one of Helen‘s favorite hobbies. She also enjoyed cooking and baking cookies, pies and desserts for family and friends. In recent years, she enjoyed listening to country music at Clara’s Place and talking with her neighbors at Hotel Pennsylvania Apartments. Helen will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor James Golla officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
