Chance A. Williams 20, of Bedford, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017. He was born on July 6, 1996 in Hershey, a son of Norman and Vicky (Blattenberger) Williams. In addition to his parents he is survived by two brothers: Tyler and Tanner Williams, of Bedford; maternal grandmother Annie Smouse, widow of Joe, of Bedford; maternal grandfather Jim Blattenberger, of Bedford, and family friend, Ed Parfitt, of Bedford. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Norman and Anne Williams.
Chance was a 2014 graduate of Bedford High School, and participated in the wrestling, cross country, and football programs. He was a High Honor Roll student while in high school, and a member of the National Honor Society. Everyone who knew Chance said he had such a kind and gentle nature. Chance would have been a wonderful nurse. He was attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania, on several academic scholarships, where he was a junior. He was an Eagle Scout, who loved to hunt and fish, and attended the Bedford Presbyterian Church. During the summer and weekends, he worked as a CNA at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, in Bedford, with Rev. Doug Friant, and Rev. Earl Stewart officiating. Burial at Bedford Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday, from 5-9 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.
