Alex B. Bulvin

Alex B. Bulvin, 91 of New Paris formerly of Bedford, died at his residence.  He was born on August 29, 1925, in South Fork, a son of the late Paul and Josephine (Waskevicz) Bulvin. On January 30, 1947, in South Fork, he married Lorraine Shirley (Weymers) Bulvin who preceded him in death on June 17, 2000. He is survived by his 2nd wife Emma Shastay-Bulvin of Bedford, two daughters, Karan Bulvin of Bedford, Bernadette Shastay and husband Andrew, of Bedford; a son, Gregory L. Bulvin and companion Deborah Woodring, of New Paris. Seven grandchildren:  Paul, Brian, Tracey, Sandra, Melissa, Allison, and Jessica; and five great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Bellock, and Nellie Bulvin; four brothers: William, Stanley, Joseph, and John Bulvin.

Alex was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church. He spent 3 years with U.S. Coast Guard and retired after 32 years form U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, reading and entertaining his friends and family.   

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, in Bedford, with Father Derek Fairman celebrant.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 6 – 8 p.m.at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.  Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Alex’s name to the St. Thomas Catholic School, 215 East Penn Street, Bedford, PA 15522.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
