Albert C. “Abe” Hartsock, 90, of Bedford, died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his residence. He was born on March 19, 1928 in Bellefonte a son of the late Robert and Anna (Lannen) Hartsock. On December 31, 1992, in Schellsburg, he married Donna (Miller) Willison-Hartsock who survives along with three sons: Albert R. “Rob” Hartsock and wife Wendy Jo, of Howard, Dennis D. Hartsock, of Julian, and Ronald Hartsock, also of Julian; four grandchildren: Kristen, Britanie, Heather, and Rachael; eight great-grandchildren; three step-sons: Kenneth Willison and wife Joyce, Teddy Willison and wife Shelly, and Bobby Willison and wife Lisa, all of Buffalo Mills; seven step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Joy Wallace, of Largo, FL, and Beryl Holtzinger, of Julian. He was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Donald Willison, a step-great-grandson, Bobby Lee Willison, a brother Russell Hartsock, and three sisters: Naomi Finlay, Neva Hartsock, and Amanda Mae Miller-Swan.
Abe served in the Army during the Korean War. He then went to work for Kennametal and retired after 40 years of employment. He was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #113 and the Bedford Moose Lodge #480. Abe enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, shooting pool, and throwing horseshoes.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be private.
